Bazsonyi Tamás

I’m Tamás, based in Budapest. For over a decade I worked on enterprise platforms — private cloud, CI/CD, data warehousing, high availability — often leading technical work across Budapest and Berlin. I’m comfortable deep in the stack, and I still think in terms of failure modes, capacity, and what happens after go-live.

Since 2023 I’ve been freelancing, and the projects look different on the outside: cloud-linked building automation (iNELS, Siemens, PLC environments), home and small-site control, web apps and backends for businesses that had outgrown spreadsheets. The approach is familiar though — understand the context on site, build, run it with real users, adjust what the first version misunderstood. I design interfaces when the job needs it; some of the clearest lessons came from watching someone use a switch at the wrong hour.

Over the last couple of years I’ve leaned heavily on AI-assisted development. Cursor is where I spend most of my coding time — sketching features, refining UI and backend code, and trying alternatives before committing to a direction. Models and assistants speed up exploration; architecture, review, and what goes to production are still engineering decisions I own.

Contracting fits how I prefer to work: short lines of communication, direct feedback, room to rethink when the problem turns out to be slightly different from the first conversation. I collaborate remotely across Europe and I’m most motivated when I can shape both the concept and the implementation — not hand off one half and disappear.

Away from laptops and pipelines, most of my free time goes to collecting records and listening properly — digging for releases and living with them, not just background noise.

Underground techno has been a constant draw, especially hypnotic and deep strains. I help shape smaller gatherings that mix music workshops with audiovisual sessions, with real care for how that sound lands in the room.

I’m steadily learning live sound engineering — mixing and reinforcement as a craft, not only as someone who books the lineup.

As a beginner DJ I play for smaller crowds in the genres I care about most.

Modular synthesis has become a recent favourite: mostly in the box with VCV Rack today, with the hope of spending more time on a physical rack soon.
